The Founders
Standing Wave Coffee Roaster was founded by the Frye brothers to share our passion for coffee with travelers and locals in the Laurel Highlands of SouthWestern PA. After years of perfecting the art and science of coffee preparation, we combine bean, roast, and taste to craft Standing Wave Coffee Roaster.
Our philosophy: work hard, relax harder, and find peace with a fresh cup of coffee between waves.

We have been passionate about the mountains, forests, and rivers of SouthWestern Pennsylvania our entire lives. We know coffee comes from the Earth and is paired best with wild and pure water. We named our roaster after a standing wave because it represents the timelessness of the hills and streams of our past and forward-looking flow of our future.
WHAT IS A STANDING WAVE?
A hydrological feature of water flowing over a rock-strewn riverbed, forming a stationary wave that grants boaters and surfers the thrill of riding continuous white- water surf without end.
